Purpose of the Role

  • Responsible for managing the development of Ooredoo Myanmar’s Brand and managing its implementation across the business in its entirety,
  • Will be responsible for the management of all Corporate Campaigns, brand activation, brand retail experience, and brand audit

Role Accountabilities 

  • Act as an authority and promoter of the Brand, ensuring consistent brand expression through all consumer and cultural touch points, both external and internal. Lead on defining and implementing the company’s corporate brand and communication strategy, providing creative communication direction and best practices across marketing units.
  • Oversees the development and execution of brand corporate campaigns, brand activation, brand retail experience, and brand audit ensuring they deliver the expected return either in brand awareness, brand equity, brand positioning, and brand affinity
  • Develop and execute a rolling 12 month brand communication/activities calendar to drive brand growth, affinity, and engage the target customer with the brand. Participate effectively in defining and implementing the company’s corporate brand and communication strategy.
  • Lead the creative development of quarterly brand themes that convey the brand point-of-view, and business targets for the quarter. Lead the quarterly creative evaluation as part of the brand audit role.
  • Develop a strong brand management team. Ensure best practices in the development of marketing programs including the writing and sharing of strong creative briefs that will result in creative communications that are on strategy, on brand, and on deadline.
  • Work closely with other communications sections to make sure that we everyone within the organization is delivering on the brand promise, values, TOV, etc…
  • Coordinate with internal communication department to build a pioneering internal brand strategy and operation team to ensure clarity and consistency across all communications
  • Manage, optimize and track annual brand communication budget
  • Ensure Ooredoo brand guideline adherence across the entirety of the Ooredoo Myanmar branded environments including customer communications, retail shops, building, online and branded corporate clothing.
  • Coordinate with the digital team to launch the new digital platform for Ooredoo Myanmar

Business Impact

  • Significant impact through establishing a positive and robust brand image among stakeholders through the complete communication mix and manifestation of the brand to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitoring, management and Sign-off on the compliance and adherence to agreed corporate brand guidelines  ensuring the protection of the brand value

Costs & Profitability

  • Responsible for managing brand communications budget + the rebrand project budget
  • Indirect impact on profitability through sound corporate and brand communications which will establish Ooredoo as the leading brand of choice in the markets in which it operates
  • Optimize resources and identify areas where cost savings can be realized.

Problem Solving

  • Implement a problem resolution strategy and plan resource allocation aiming to minimize problem resolution time.
  • Work with business units/corporate centres to resolve complex problems involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Ensure issues are resolved within agreed timeframes.

Planning & Organizing

  • Develop plans and procedures to implement activities to improve quality and efficiency of the business unit.
  • Manages the development and execution overall Brand communication plan

Team working, Coaching/Development & Leadership  

  • Provide leadership, direction, planning and unity of purpose to staff in the department.
  • Regularly communicate organizational decisions and policies and BU strategy with staff.
  • Provide motivation and commitment through visible and effective leadership.

Communicating, negotiating & influencing

  • Establish and manage multiple cross-functional relationships, coordination and communication lines with all business unit functions in relation to brand and corporate communications.

Job Requirements

Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge

  • 10 years of experience in the communications or marketing field is required of which at least 4 should be within a Brand and Corporate Communications function in a large complex organisation
  • Strong understanding of brand and corporate communications disciplines and skills 
  • Brand Management Communications and marketing expertise
  • Strong knowledge in the management of Brand Agencies
  • Fluent in Burmese and English
  • Business & Financial Acumen
  • Development of Brand strategies and Brand Building
  • Campaign Management and execution
  • Brand Monitoring and Measurement
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Communications. MBA is plus.
