Key Responsibilities

  1. HSE Program Development:
    • Develop, review, and update health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and programs to align with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and company standards.
    • Establish HSE objectives and targets, and develop strategies for achieving continuous improvement in HSE performance.
  2. Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification:
    • Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential workplace hazards, environmental risks, and operational concerns.
    • Collaborate with operational teams to implement appropriate control measures and mitigation strategies to minimize risks to personnel, property, and the environment.
  3. Training and Education:
    • Provide HSE training and orientation for employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure awareness of safety protocols, emergency procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    • Develop and deliver training modules on topics such as hazard communication, confined space entry, chemical safety, and ergonomics.
  4. Incident Management and Investigation:
    • Establish procedures for reporting, investigating, and documenting incidents, near misses, and occupational illnesses.
    • Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve safety performance.
    • Maintain records of incidents, investigations, and corrective actions for regulatory reporting and continuous improvement purposes.
  5. Compliance Monitoring and Auditing:
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess compliance with HSE regulations, permits, and company standards.
    • Monitor environmental parameters, waste management practices, and emissions to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
    • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and external auditors during inspections and compliance reviews.
  6. Emergency Preparedness and Response:
    • Develop emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and contingency measures to address potential emergencies such as spills, fires, or natural disasters.
    • Conduct drills and exercises to test emergency response capabilities and evaluate the effectiveness of response procedures.
    • Provide training and guidance to emergency response teams and first responders.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications are advantageous.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in HSE roles within the industrial or manufacturing sector, preferably in the oil and gas, chemical, or food processing industries.
  • In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and industry standards.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities to assess risks, investigate incidents, and develop effective control measures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate training, engage employees, and interact with regulatory agencies.
  • Proficiency in conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
